While caregiver engagement offers notable advantages, the programme’s unique focus on mental health, effective communication, and practical skills also support adolescent prevention behaviour. The original Let’s Talk programme was thus adapted as a standalone programme for adolescents without the family strengthening component. The 12-week Let’s Talk Teens programme focuses on HIV knowledge and skill-building exercises, in order to reach adolescents whose circumstances make caregiver co-participation difficult. The Let’s Talk Teens phase 1 and 2 curricula and workbook are available here (isiZulu and seSotho versions available by request).
